As the weekend begins, everyone at Headingley Speakers Toastmasters would like to wish you a happy, relaxing, and inspiring few days ahead.

Weekends are the perfect opportunity to recharge, but they’re also a great time to practise one of the most valuable skills you can develop: communication.

Whether it’s:

  • Speaking up more confidently in conversations

  • Telling stories with more energy and clarity

  • Practising a speech aloud

  • Recording yourself to improve pacing and delivery

  • Or simply becoming more aware of how you communicate

Small steps over the weekend can lead to huge improvements over time.

Public speaking is a skill built through practice, not perfection. Every conversation, presentation, or moment of confidence helps you grow.

Join Us on Monday

If you’ve been thinking about improving your speaking skills, why not start the new week with us?

Headingley Speakers meets every Monday evening, bringing together supportive and encouraging people who want to grow in confidence, communication, and leadership.

You don’t need experience to join Toastmasters. Many members begin feeling nervous about speaking and quickly discover that the supportive environment makes learning enjoyable and rewarding.

At our meetings, you’ll have opportunities to:

  • Practise prepared and impromptu speaking

  • Receive constructive feedback

  • Develop leadership and communication skills

  • Build confidence in a friendly environment

  • Meet positive and encouraging people

Most importantly, you’ll discover that public speaking can actually be fun.

Why Toastmasters?

The benefits of Toastmasters go far beyond speeches.

Members often find improvements in:

  • Workplace presentations and meetings

  • Interviews and networking

  • Confidence in social situations

  • Leadership and organisation skills

  • Clearer communication in everyday life

These are skills that stay with you for life.

A Great Time to Start

There’s never a “perfect” time to begin public speaking, the best time is simply when you decide to start.

So enjoy your weekend, practise your voice, challenge yourself a little, and if you’re curious about Toastmasters, come and join us on Monday evening at Headingley Speakers.

We’d love to welcome you.
