There’s something exciting about the start of a new Toastmasters year. It’s a time to celebrate everything our club has achieved over the past 12 months while looking ahead to fresh opportunities, new leaders, and exciting challenges.
At Headingley Speakers, we're thrilled to welcome the beginning of a new Toastmasters year, and with it comes a new club committee, a new Area committee, and the start of another fantastic contest season.
Whether you're a long-standing member or thinking about joining for the first time, there's never been a better time to get involved.
Welcoming Our New Club Committee
Each Toastmasters year brings a new committee of volunteer officers who work together to keep the club running smoothly.

From planning meeting agendas to welcoming visitors and supporting members through the Pathways programme, the committee works behind the scenes to create the positive experience that makes Toastmasters so rewarding.
We'd like to say a huge thank you to our outgoing committee for their hard work and commitment over the past year. Their dedication has helped our members grow in confidence and communication, and their efforts have laid strong foundations for the year ahead.
At the same time, we'd like to congratulate our incoming committee members. We wish them every success as they begin their Toastmasters leadership journey.
A New Area Committee
The new Toastmasters year also welcomes a new Area committee.
Area Directors and their teams support multiple clubs within the local Toastmasters community. They provide guidance, share ideas, organise events, and help clubs continue to thrive throughout the year.
Their support plays an important role in connecting clubs, encouraging collaboration, and ensuring members have opportunities to learn beyond their own club meetings.
We're looking forward to working with our new Area team and sharing another successful year together.
Contest Season Is Almost Here!

Speech contest season!
Club contests provide an exciting opportunity to challenge yourself, showcase your speaking skills, and learn from other talented speakers.
Whether you're entering for the first time or returning to compete again, contests offer valuable experience in:
Public speaking under pressure
Speech writing and refinement
Performance and delivery
Receiving valuable feedback
Building confidence
Even if competing isn't for you, contests are a fantastic opportunity to support fellow members, volunteer in meeting roles, and enjoy an evening of inspiring speeches.
